Know the story of Lord Raghu's total Raghuvansh, read the full story here

Raghuvansha, the clan of Lord Rama, is described by Guru Vashistha under the Balakanda of Ramayana, which is as follows - Kashyapa was born from Brachi's son Marichi. Kashyap's son was Vivaswan. Vivasvan's son was Vaivasta Manu, one of whose ten sons was named Ikshvanku. King Ikshvanku made Ayodhya his capital and he established the Ikshvanku dynasty.

King Yuvnashva was born in this dynasty but had no son. Wishing for the advancement of the dynasty and getting a son, he gave up his entire kingdom and decided to go to the forest and do penance. During his residence in the forest, he met Chyavan Rishi, a descendant of Maharishi Bhrigu.

The Chyavan Rishi started to perform Ishthi Yajna for King Yuvnashva so that the King's offspring would be born. After the yajna, the Chyavan Rishi placed the pot of water in a pot which the king's wife had to consume so that she could conceive.

Many sages and sages participated in the yajna aimed at the child birth of King Yuvnashv and after the yagna all the people fell asleep in deep sleep due to fatigue. At night, when King Yuvnashva woke up, he felt terrible thirst.

Yuvnashv made a loud sound for water, but due to fatigue, no one heard the king's voice due to sleeping in a deep sleep. In such a situation, the king himself got up and started searching for water.

King Yuvnashva saw the urn which contained the water of the blessed. Unaware of what purpose the water is for, the king drank all the water due to thirst. When sage Chyavan came to know about this, he told the king that his child would now be born from his womb.

When the time came for the child to be born, the divine doctors, Ashwin Kumar, ripped the womb of King Yuvnashv and took the child out. After the birth of the child, a problem arose as to how the child would feed his appetite

All the gods were present there, so Indra Dev told him that he would fill the mother's deficiency for that child. Indra put her finger in the baby's mouth from which milk was coming out and said "Mam dhata" ie I am its mother. For this reason, that infant was named Mamadhata or Mandhata.
